With all life, comes death. And that includes you! This week we'll be doing a quick review of the death mechanics and how your precious soul will fair from one life to the next - I've been dying to tell you all!

Dying

You die when you run out of health. Shocking news! A lot of things deal damage in Landraisers, hunger and fire in the overworld, traps underground, and monsters of the dungeons even further below!  The world is dangerous, death is common, and of course you must be punished for your failures.

When you die, the Tiki gods will bless your deathplace with a gravestone! This is not only a marker for your demise, but also a place to recover what you have lost. On death, all of the items in your inventory will be lost (but items in your hotbar will be safe!) and absorbed into the gravestone.

You will respawn above ground in your original spawn location. If you die above ground or underground, it's a simple matter of returning to your place of death and breaking the gravestone, which will return your belongings to you. Be wary however - as you cannot revisit dungeons after exiting them - all items lost on death while in a dungeon will be lost forever!

Crafting Update

Also as a little tag on the end of this blog, crafting has received an update! It now has a UI for you to place items into which allows for better visualisation and easier manipulation of what is contained within the table. In addition, the number of slots has been reduced from 9 down to 8, reducing the complexity of some of the recipes!

These changes will be a big QoL update over the previous crafting system (not that you'll understand what the old system was like since you've never played with it!). Other crafting stations (the simple 1-in-1-out stations, like the Spinning Wheel) have not had UI added to keep the speed of crafting as quick as possible for those stations!
